Issue 35 Launch

We had a great launch party for Issue 35 last Tuesday (27th Jan), at Pena in Glasgow. Thanks to everyone who came, especially our readers, and everyone who supported us by buying an issue of the magazine. I know our opinion on the matter is hardly unbiased, but we think Issue 35 is rather good, and looks, feels, and probably even smells better than FGTS ever has before.

Here are a few photos from the event to inspire jealousy in everyone who didn’t make. The issue will be available to purchase on the website shortly, as well as in a select few bookshops.

Issue 35

We are pleased to announce the launch of From Glasgow to Saturn Issue 35. This issue has been in the works for a while now, but finally we are ready to release this exciting new installment of the university’s official creative writing magazine.

Tonight at Peña (5 Eton Lane, G128NB) we will be celebrating this fantastic occasion with an evening of music, small beers and, of course, readings from the latest issue by our talented contributors.

The event begins at 7.30pm and all are welcome. Have a drink, be entertained, and maybe even buy an issue.

We can’t wait to see you there.

Issue 34

Issue 34 is here!

Thank you for being patient with us. We’ve had a bit of a busy few months, but we’re delighted to present our third and final issue. We feel it’s a strong representation of the amazing new writing in Scotland today. Have a read and let us know what you think.

It’s been wonderful acting as editors for From Glasgow to Saturn. We’ll definitely be watching future developments with interest.

Happy reading, and happy summer!

Issue 33, a collaboration, and a party

Issue 33 is here!

Our beautiful cover was drawn by Weaam Sperinck, a graduate of Glasgow’s School of Art.

Our new design, as well as the first ever print copy of From Glasgow to Saturn, was put together by David Rae.

Thank you to both of them for their excellent illustrations.

We will be holding a party to launch this issue at The Bank Street Bar and Cafe on Monday 10th March.  We hope to see you there, where you’ll be able to pick up one of the aforementioned print copies.

And, finally, submissions for issue 34 are now open. We’re looking for something specific with this issue: we are focusing on the Commonwealth. Hit us with everything you’ve got- we want poetry, we want prose, we want essays and experiments. We want positive, negative and everything in between. If you’d like to be considered for Commonwealth Voices as well, please do let us know. Details can be found here.

Happy reading!

Issue 32

We’re so pleased to announce that issue 32 of From Glasgow to Saturn is now available. You can download the issue by clicking here or by navigating from the menu on the left.

Submissions for issue 33 will open on Monday 11th November and the submission period will be significantly longer.

To celebrate the launch of issue 32 we hosted a reading party in The Scotia Bar on Stockwell St last night. Thank you to those of you who came along to read and to listen. We’ll certainly be putting together another reading party to launch issue 33, so keep an eye on our Facebook page, our twitter feed or here for announcements.

Happy reading!
