Submissions for Issue 50 now OPEN!

We are thrilled to announce we are now accepting submissions for Issue 50!

Submission gates will be open from February 24th through March 24th at midnight.

Please read our submission guidelines before submitting.

While there is no theme (and we encourage all submissions), the Editors are particularly interested in work speaking to or inspired by Edwin Morgan, as this year also marks the 50th anniversary of Morgan’s collection From Glasgow to Saturn after which our journal is named.

Submit here. Please direct any questions to fromglasgowtosaturnjournal@gmail.com

Issue 24 submissions closed

Thank you to everyone who’s submitted their work for the next issue of From Glasgow to Saturn. Submissions are now closed, and we’ll be spending the next couple of weeks sifting through all your fabulous words to choose the content for Issue 24, which we’re aiming to publish before Christmas.

We’re also thrilled to announce that Spring 2012 will see the production of From Glasgow to Saturn‘s first ever themed issue, with the theme of TRANSFORMATION.  We welcome any interpretation on this theme in any genre.  Submissions will be open in February, so now’s the time to get thinking!

Hello from your new Glasgow to Saturn Editors!

We’ve hope you’ve all had a good summer and have been working hard on your brilliant story/poem/essay to submit for the next From Glasgow to Saturn issue.  We’re delighted to be taking over the magazine from the able hands of Alan, Nick & Sheila for the next twelve months.  Issue 23 will be coming your way in mid-October so we are now open for submissions (and thank you to those of you who have been submitting over the summer).  The deadline for submissions is 26th September.  Further information to follow shortly on our plans for the year- including reading parties, themed issues and more.

Issue 17 Online Now

The editors are pleased to announce publication of the 17th issue of From Glasgow to Saturn. We have put together what we feel is an excellent collection of short fiction and poetry by present and past staff and students, including Alan Bissett, Rodge Glass, Anneliese Mackintosh, Raymond Soltysek, Duncan Muir, Julie Martis, Mukul Dahal, Paul Abbott, Amy Anderson, Miles Beard and Patrick Holloway.

You can read online, or download your free copy, here.

Many thanks to those of you who submitted work. The standards of writing were suitably impressive, so if your piece did not find a home in this issue, please do try again in the future. Work has begun already on Issue 18, which we hope to have ready in the first week of December. We’re open to submissions and read on an ongoing basis.

Happy reading!

Submissions Deadline

With the first issue of the new From Glasgow to Saturn due to be published around November 5th, we would like to advise anyone wishing to submit work to have done so before October 25th. Any pieces received after this date may be carried over to the next issue.

The submissions we have received so far include several high quality pieces from a variety of students, staff and alumni. See our submission guidelines for more details of how to get your own work published.

We need your prose fiction, poetry and essays in order to showcase the talent contained within the University of Glasgow.

We look forward to receiving your submissions.
